The president of Kyushu Resort, which the Japanese city of Nagasaki has named as a partner in the prefecture's move to attract casinos and integrated resorts (IRs), said he would not seek an administrative appeal from the local government over the state authorities' decision to reject the plan in December.
Takashi Oya of Kyushu Resort spoke at the Nagasaki Prefectural Council General Affairs Committee on Monday, according to information gathered by GGRAsia's Japan correspondent.
The deadline for these appeals is March 27.
Mr Oya said: "We're not going to ask for an administrative appeal to review the plan again because we have to have more shortcomings than advantages."
The Nagasaki Prefecture IR Public Relations Department has previously identified private sector partners for IR as "Casino Austria International Japan" and "Kyushu Resort Japan and Adviser."
In a commentary on Monday, Mr Oya said: "We still believe the Nagasaki IR District Development Plan deserves approval."
He added: "This is why the uncertainty of the criteria set out by the [state] government on financing certainty and execution capacity and deviations in understanding have not been approved," he added on the topic between Nagasaki and the national authorities.
The Nagasaki Islands fundraising mentioned an amount of 438.3 billion yen (currently $2.98 billion).
At the end of last month, Nagasaki Prefecture's governor, Oishi Gengo, said he had taken the view that it would be "nearly impossible" to reconsider Japan's central authorities' decision not to approve the agitation plan submitted in April 2022 on the advice of a "law expert." 바카라사이트
Oishi could confirm his decision not to appeal the matter on Wednesday, according to GGRAsia's correspondent.
At the current general affairs committee meeting last week, we heard that local authorities will "reduce" their IR promotion department this year and rename it "IR Office."
The Nagasaki IR project was scheduled to land at the Huis Ten Bosch Theme Park (pictured) in Sasebo City, part of the prefecture.
The prefecture said the project's "financial preparations" include Credit Suisse AG, CBRE and Canter Fitzgerald Securities Japan Inc.
