Mainland China lottery sales fall by 35 pct in Oct

Official lottery sales in mainland China totaled 27.55 billion yuan ($3.92 billion) in October, down 34.8% from a year earlier, according to official data from the finance ministry. It was the ninth consecutive month of year-on-year declines in lottery sales.

Welfare lottery sales fell 33.0% to 12.68 billion yuan. The value of the sports lottery business fell 36.2% year-on-year to 14.87 billion yuan.

The ministry cited a drop in total lottery sales related to changes in rules regulating these projects implemented nationwide earlier this year, as well as plans to shut down lottery markets during the Golden Week this fall. The period includes China's National Day on Oct. 1.

In the first October of 2019, total lottery sales nationwide amounted to 343.36 billion yuan, down 19.3% year-on-year. Welfare lottery sales fell 15.4% to 155.78 billion yuan. Sports lottery sales amounted to 187.58 billion yuan, down 22.3% year-on-year. 바카라사이트

Guangdong remained the largest official lottery product market in mainland China despite a 19.8% year-on-year drop in sales in the first 10 months of 2019. The tally for the period was 32.15 billion yuan.
